I started Helping Hooves as a desire to give back to the community what had been given to my family when my oldest son, Jeremiah was hurt in a car accident at the age of 8.  He sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury(TBI), and needed many hours of Occupational therapy, Physical Therapy, and counseling to overcome the impact of his injuries.  Without those amazing therapists and the grace of God, he most certainly would not be where he is today. He is a happy, successful, young businessman working and living in Dallas with his beautiful wife Elise and traveling the world.  He has prepared this wonderful website for us, for which I am so very grateful and proud.  He overcame so many obstacles after his accident both emotionally and physically as a young boy and by middle school he empowered himself to become his own advocate and succeeded at academics as well as his career.  I would like to tell all parents struggling everyday with the special needs of their child, NEVER GIVE UP, reach out for every agency available, and ADVOCATE for your child everyday!  If I can help just one child and family then I will know I have "paid it forward".  In our 6 years of offering Equine Therapeutic Riding, I still get tears in my eyes when I see a child accomplish a small task and smile.  It has been an amazing journey. To my son, Jeremy, I say Thank You for all your support and you know how proud I am of you!
